Stay the Course... Fight the Good Fight

"You can have religious freedom but you probably shouldn't work in the emergency room." - Martha Coakley

Was this the statement that blew it for Martha or was it one of her other gaffes? I don't believe so, but it certainly didn't help her. Nor did a failing president's endorsement whose poll points are dropping faster than he can dribble a basketball. I believe the American People spoke in Massachusetts and we need to continue to speak in a loud and clear voice by voting OUT the fence-straddlers and voting IN fresh blood who will see to it that the conservative voice is heard! That's why I say 'Stay the Course... Fight the Good Fight'  that was fought in Massachusetts, fight it across the Nation!

Are we a Christian Nation? If you take objection to me quoting the Bible in this article, where IS the heart of the American people? Did you take objection to Coakley's quotation in the first paragraph? In my title I'm referring to Paul's writing in the Bible; not our former Presidents George W. Bush or Ronald Reagan. Reagan would fit aptly at this point in time with our economic situation. Reagan fought for better economics and the United States enjoyed a better economy because of his leadership which carried over into the next presidency. He brought us out of the worst presidency term to date: Jimmy Carter who nearly bankrupted the US. I won't go on about the latter, because that would be a whole other posting!

"For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching, They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and  chase after myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:3-7

I dissect this into those who don't listen: liberals - those who say we are "not a Christian nation," not democrats and republicans; it has come about over the years that there are more liberals wearing the democrat suit.  Liberals tend to follow their own desires and frivolities. They listen to what they want to hear or what lines their pockets. (This is not to say there aren't republicans who do the same - we've seen many of them in the past year!) They reject the truth  - what the people want; and chase after myths - 'hope & change.'  Keep a clear mind in every situation. (Don't listen to the rhetoric, read the bills yourself they are trying to pass and question your representatives about them. Chances are very high they haven't even read them!) 'Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News and fully carry out your ministry.'  You may lose some friends along the way for your convictions, so be sure you're standing on solid ground before you fight for what you believe in. Each person has their own ministry or skill, find yours and use it. When you pass from this earth, go knowing that you did all that you were supposed to do and don't judge others!  Serve God, love your family, and serve your country in whatever capacity that you are supposed to.

Don't sit around and complain that you can't do what someone else did, you are not them. Do your duty and stay the course. Fight the good fight that you are to fight, then you have lived your life well. Let's clean house in 2010, by supporting good candidates who stand up for good and moral principles. Those who don't rush into decisions quickly and try to ramrod legislation through or are puppets of someone else. Thoroughly investigate the candidates and inform others about the ones running for office based on facts not rumors. Don't be afraid to vote an independent in, they may be more worthy than some of the republicans. This is why I say investigate them thoroughly. We don't need wolves dressed in sheep's clothing or reach-across-the-aisle politicians! Put your Votes where your mouths are, make all those tea parties count for something - carry through!

Addendum: While we're at it, we need to ask for the resignation of politicians who are not doing their jobs. One congressman wrote a letter to the president asking for the resignation of Janet Napolitano because of the lack of Homeland Security! Kudos to him and the other congressmen that signed the letter with him! Here is a link:

Obama's Top Secret Advisor

Timothy advises Obama

President Obama sought wisdom from his smartest advisor today via teleconference ... (my grandson).
I wonder what he told him, looks like 'Tigger' was very serious while President Obama was laughing -
he should listen to this advisor more!

Did You call your Senators today?

Get a Grip ...

Yes, It's me! I've kept up with some of you & I'm still here! : ) This is a brief précis as to my departure from TH for a while ... my sabbatical of sorts.

Photobucket

I had a forever divorce. I'll leave out the sordid details! I moved this May for the 3rd time due to security issues. I kept up with politics by mail with my Reps & TH through Bobbie's e-mail. I look --> FWD! Actually, after all I discovered over the last few years re: the marriage; I dealt with it pretty well. "The wife is always the last to realize."

This photo is of USMC Sgt. & Mrs. Gallagher 5th year of marriage - two deploys later & he just received a Medal of Achievement from the Corp! This requires that you accomplish superlatively above what is expected & must service the whole Corp! Ooh-Rah! The other photo is by the Officers' homes.

R & J 5 years  Photobucket

I traveled to & stayed in VA for over 2 mos. because gr'child #4 attempted to come 12 weeks early & I had to take care of #3 - the 2 year old, my little buddy. He still asks "Where did Nana GO?" We grew very attached while I was there. I built my photography portfolio of nature shots & of people. I made it to DC - half hour drive. I was @ USMC base Quantico with some of the Marine 's top officers. I will write & post more of politics expeditiously.

Bobbie told some of you that my #2 Jr. USMC arrived! After 3 hospital visits to stop labor he came 4 days early - full-term! 10-01 @ 22:06 - 7 lbs 5 oz! I'm grateful to all of you who prayed. It was a series of impromptu trials over the last year or two! Just back from AR to help my Dad, so hopefully this is my last trip for a while! The photos below are from a picturesque walk at the base where we spe
nt time to explore. We had so much laughter, joy, & fun together! I was his surrogate Mom because 'Mommy' was on bed rest for 8 weeks.

The Plan for Peace...

Most of this was sent to me by a friend and was wrongly credited, the author is anonymous, whom I like very much, because I can 'play' with their work. I 'tweaked' it quite a bit. I hope it gives you some food for thought or a few laughs. I'm not back full time - but I'm here and I will post on occasion and try to get to some of your blogs to comment. Thank you all for your prayers! :)

Updated 7-4 (Happy 4th of July!)

I see a lot of people yelling (oxy-moron) for peace but I have not heard of a plan for real peace. So, here's one plan:

1) The US will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, bin Laden, and the rest of those 'good ole boys,' - we will never 'interfere' again. (As if we have anything TO apologize for!)

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We will station those troops at our borders. No one will be allowed sneaking through holes in the fence. I failed to mention Afghanistan, what was that promise by our current POTUS for no war?

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home  via school buses much like they came in on, but we’ll be good Samaritans and distribute bread and H2O. After 90 days the remainder will face immediate deportation, regardless of who or what businesses they own; to the nearest border: Canada or Mexico - they're illegal! France will welcome them. Of course, who's going to do all the landscaping and manual grunt work? Our country has grown so complacent or errr LAZY!!!

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 10 days unless given a special permit! No one without a thorough background check will be allowed in - they must be vetted more than the 'president's cabinet.' We don't need any more cab drivers, cheap hotel owners, fast-food workers, or convenience store cashiers. This should really help our economy! (Better than the 'Stimulus' package!!)

5) No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'F' and it's back home baby - wherever 'home' is. (Dispersement at it's finest!)

6) The US will make a stronger effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a 'temporary' drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness, off-shore and the Rockies. The caribou, the marine life, the granola girls, and tree-huggers will have to cope for a while.
PETA will just have to be locked up along with the EPA; won't they make great friends or ummm cell mates? (I failed to mention we'll continue to have nuclear and develop it, it's safer than the gov't tells us, we can put many unemployed to work this way!)

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $20 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, who cares? They can go elsewhere to sell their production. (After a week of their tanks filling up storage sites should be enough.) Besides who wants oil spills on all that sand? We don't want Venezuelan 'sour' crude!

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophes in the world, we will not 'interfere.' They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides, most of what we give is stolen or given to their respective armies. The people who need it most get very little, if anything. (Just think of all of the disasters in other nations we've helped, that money could be better spent at HOME - the good ole US of A!)

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here and we'll finally disassociate with this bogus 'peace-keeping' organization! The UN building would make a good homeless shelter or maybe a prison compound for all the dirty politicians!

10) All Americans must speak English in public... learn it... no more pushing “1” for English on the phone! Don’t like it? Leave! No comprende Espanol or Arabic!
11) All foreign imports will be curtailed, this way we don’t have to see “Made in China” on almost every item we purchase from dog food to clothing to home interiors! (Personally, if I see that tag or stamp, I put it back on the shelf, I’m not a Communist and I’m not going to support communism!)
(China has enough of our gold in their coffers already!!)
Now, isn't that a winner of a plan? I'm open to discussion or disagreement, as I've said this is heavy on sarcasm!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY - THANK YOU TO OUR TROOPS & THEIR WIVES OR FAMILY FOR THEIR SACRIFICE!!!

“The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.’ She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, ‘You want a piece of me?’” – Robin Williams

God Bless America AGAIN with Honor!

BKG_AmericanFlag1.jpg picture by kmd_76About a year ago, I had a person ask me if this was the America I remembered growing up in. My answer is NO; this is not the AMERICA I grew up in. I was taught to respect authority. We did not backtalk our teachers or there were consequences at school and worse ones at home! I have a friend who is a high school teacher and she’s two years from retirement. She told me she wonders sometimes if she’ll make it through those two years and we’re still young! She had a kid in her class call her a F***ing C*** because she told the girl to get busy! If that happened when we were in school we would have been suspended! It amazes me how many teenagers and adults use the 'F' word as a common word these days. I am appalled! I guarantee you my parents would have grounded me also. There was discipline in BOTH places! We were able to pray at school functions and NEVER once was Christianity banned from school. Evolution was considered controversial, not a science, but a theory some scientist had, now it’s in the textbooks and in many states they’re starting to put in that some families have 2 mommies or 2 daddies. I remember my primer said “See Dick. See Jane. See Spot.” What do they say now? I’m sure the boy’s name would have to be changed because it has been used commonly as a derogatory term.

I grew up when our President was looked up to no matter what party he belonged to and was treated with dignity and honor. We never would have considered slandering him in the media if we didn’t agree with a decision he made, we discussed it in the privacy of our homes. I am so sick of the treatment that George W. Bush has had in his second term especially.
PresBushSpeech3.jpg picture by kmd_76

Maybe there are some things that people haven’t agreed with, but respect the OFFICE! I believe after we get the current President-elect we’ll be wishing we had Bush back! When I was younger, we prayed that our Commander-in-Chief would make a better decision next time, we never criticized him in public! If he happened to come through our town it was cause for celebration and everyone went to cheer him on, not to protest or carry hate signs. He was highly esteemed! We did not question matters of "National Security," we realized that some things had to be kept confidential to protect our great nation! Now we live in an instant information-based society where people feel they have the ‘right to know’ matters that are beyond their "clearance" level! That would be like announcing to our enemies all of our strategies, which I can assure you no wars were won in that manner! There is too much interference now which slows down the process of quick decisive action, because everyone wants to debate and grandstand. I truly wonder how the current man will handle matters of national security and I truly struggle with showing respect for him. There is a saying in business that if the leader is honorable and shows respect for those under him it will filter down. We will see what happens; I reserve my judgment. I do not respect the President elect as a man, but I respect the office he will hold and I only hope that if he dishonors it, that there will be action taken!

When I grew up, mealtimes were started with the whole family at the table after everyone was seated. Then we would say a prayer to bless our food and thank God for His provisions and pray for our leaders! We never left the table until everyone was finished eating. We talked during the meal about our day. We were taught manners for eating with politeness and etiquette in addressing our elders; such as saying "yes sir and no sir or yes ma’am and no ma’am" and called our friends parents Mr. or Mrs. unless they insisted otherwise. No “games” were played at the table unless they involved the whole family after eating. We didn’t have iPods and MP3s or electronic games. In today’s society, it is rare when families with children to sit down and have a meal together. This is one of the reasons that families fall apart, there is no continuity. There is no time to discuss each other’s day, except in the car or in passing.

The television was not turned on until all the dishes were put away. TV could be viewed without concern that children might see something inappropriate; there was no cursing, sex, or people killing others with blood on the screen. Much was left to our imagination. Children were able to go outside and play until dark because it was SAFE. Divorce only occurred in Hollywood and most families went to church together every Sunday. Friday nights the whole town went to the football games during the season. Saturday mornings many met at the local donut shop and discussed the game. Small town America has almost been eliminated. People used to be able to rely on family or neighbors in emergencies, but with so many families living in separate states and many who don’t even know their neighbors, who do you trust? Who do you go to when you need to rely on someone else? As a single Mom, I have found this more difficult because my friends who have families don’t want to be bothered or don’t live close. My children live in other states, except for my 15 year old son. With having to move recently, I don’t know my neighbors.

American_Flag_2.jpg picture by kmd_76
Men wore hats and took them off during the National Anthem and everyone put their hand over their heart and kept their eyes on the American flag.  Nobody spoke during this time of honoring our nation, from children, to teens, to adults. It was silent except for the performance of the anthem. People bowed their heads to pray at public events. Today I’m dismayed when I go to a football game or a graduation ceremony and people are very disrespectful during the anthem, speaking to others! School was started each morning when the whole class would stand with their right hand placed on their heart and recite: “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation under GOD Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” I’ve asked my son if they still do this and he says they don’t and haven’t since he was in 2nd grade! Which is seven years ago!

It was not uncommon for someone to pray in school over the intercom for a family who had a member who died or was in the hospital. There were no school shootings. There were no metal detectors to get into the buildings. They weren't necessary! Most school functions were started with prayer: at sporting events, banquets, award ceremonies and graduation and YES it was a public school! No, this is NOT the America I grew up in! Now we find that it’s okay for kids to dress in Goth, wear Satanic shirts, and other religious apparel but they cannot carry a Bible to school now or pray!

I’ve thought about his question off and on since the presidential election and it is scary. What will happen under the new administration, even some who voted him in have a sense of dread. There are far more liberals and far more people who disrespect our current leaders. The person who asked me the question was attacking me personally regarding an article I had written that he did not agree with. When he said it was not the America he grew up in, he said he was being called un-American by others because he questions authority all the time.Well, my response to this person is; I think we grew up with very different values!

Yes, we are given freedom of speech, but radical liberals have taken it to the extreme. Where did our honor of country go? What happened to the “America”I grew up in? You might be surprised to find that the crime rates went up when prayer and the mention of God were taken out of school. If you don't believe me,look up the dates and do a comparative analysis. We accommodate other "religions" in airports and other public places as well as school. Why is Christianity prohibited? Politicians took God out of America and school, let’s bring Him back! Let’s bring back the conservative values that so many of us remember! May GOD Bless America Again!
